About JumpBrush


JUMPBRUSH is 3 days/4 nights of Dynamic Classes, Workshops, and Performances for intermediate to advanced dancers ages 12 and up. Classes range from ballet to contemporary to modern and much more.

This vibrant dance festival has two distinct and exciting objectives:

First, to provide an incredible opportunity for dancers to dance, share, and learn through collaborative and interactive workshops and activities with leading professional dancers and choreographers from across America.

Second, to offer an extraordinary behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of dance for enthusiasts and the community at large.

San Francisco’s Joe Goode Performance Group will take part in a JumpBrush “Reverse Residency,” culminating on the closing night “JUMPBRUSH in Concert” event held at the Performing Arts Center.

The company’s performance and Reverse Residency will be a highlight of the JumpBrush Pacific Coast Dance Convergence Festival. (for more on Joe Goode see joegoode.org)

JumpBrush will open with the Critiqued Opening Night Studio Showcase,” which offers studios and dance groups participating in JumpBrush 2012 an opportunity to show their work. For guidelines see our Performances page.

HOPBRUSH Youth Workshop

DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND, HOPBRUSH HAS BEEN MOVED TO FRIDAY August 10th 8:30am-12:30pm

HopBrush is a workshop offered to kids ages 8-12 as part of the JumpBrush Pacific Dance Convergence.


HopBrush will consist of a 30 minute group warm up followed by two 75-minute classes in Modern and  
Musical Theater. The workshop will conclude with a 45-minute tour of the Performing Arts Facilities.

HopBrush registration cost is $75 which includes:
  •  Warm up
  •  2 classes (75-min/each)
  •  Tour of the Performing Arts Facility
  •  A JumpBrush T-shirt
  •  One ticket to ‘JUMPBRUSH in Concert’ Saturday August 11th

JumpBrush in Concert

JUMPBRUSH in Concert is the festival finale featuring a dynamic evening performances comprised of the Joe Goode Performance Group, two pieces selected by the adjudicators of the Studio Showcase, and two to three works by local choreographers danced by Joe Goode Performance Group.

JUMPBRUSH will be held at the Performing Arts Center, San Luis Obispo.  All class, lecture, performance, on-campus housing and meal facilities are within easy walking distance, all on the beautiful California Polytechnic State University campus, located in San Luis Obispo, CA, the jewel of the Central Coast.
